Cricket Derbyshire and Derby College are working in partnership to create the Cricket Derbyshire Sport Academy, launching in September 2015.

It will offer young people of all abilities – who are interested in sport, cricket events, competency and coaching – the opportunity to gain further education qualifications and to enhance further employment opportunities.

The A-Level equivalent qualification will give 16 to 18-year-olds the chance to earn up to 210 UCAS points, with over 65% of BTEC Level 3 students applying for university after completion.

Students will get the opportunity to train at Derbyshire County Cricket Club’s elite facilities at The 3aaa County Ground and the course will create a pathway into a wide range of sport coaching opportunities.

There’s still time for young people to sign up for the Cricket Derbyshire Sport Academy, with Cricket Derbyshire and Derby College.
