Fast bowler Wayne White has been released by Derbyshire.

The 29-year-old, who joined the Club ahead of the 2015 season on a one-year deal, will leave the Club with immediate effect.

White’s departure comes as Elite Performance Director Graeme Welch increases his focus on the development of his younger bowlers within the Derbyshire dressing room.

Welch said: “Wayne came here on a one-year contract and made some good contributions this summer including a couple of match winning performances.

“With his contract up at the end of the summer and with a number of younger bowlers coming through, we’ve decided to part company a little earlier than anticipated. This gives Wayne a greater chance of securing a new contract and we wish him well for the future.”

White added: “I want to thank Derbyshire and the Members for their support. It’s been a pleasure to represent the Club but it is now time for a new challenge and I’m looking forward to continuing and improving in my career.”
