The Club has announced its Second XI fixtures for the 2017 season, with home games taking place across Derbyshire and Staffordshire.

All Second XI fixtures will be played at venues away from The 3aaa County Ground this summer, due to a busy summer of cricket in Derby, including the ICC Women’s World Cup in June and July.

The Second XI start the new season with a home One-Day Trophy fixture, followed by a Second XI Championship match, versus Lancashire from Monday 17 April at Hem Heath, based in Stoke-on-Trent.

The Second XI start their Second XI Twenty20 campaign away at Lancashire Lightning at the start of July.

Director of Cricket, Kim Barnett said: “We decided, with a very busy summer with the Women’s World Cup as well, that we want to focus on preparing the pitches at Derby for the First XI to be successful.

“We therefore wanted to take all the Second XI cricket to venues in and around Derbyshire and we’ve done that. Our thanks go to the local clubs for their help in securing venues for games so quickly.

“It will also offer more opportunities for Members and supporters who live away from Derby the chance to watch some extra cricket this summer.”
