AJ Harris joined the Club in April 2011 and served first as Bowling Coach and then Second XI Coach before being appointed Academy Director in 2014.

He played an integral part in the development and progress of a number of young players during his time at the Club with Academy graduates Harvey Hosein, Tom Taylor, Greg Cork and Matt Critchley, amongst others, all breaking into the first team during his time in charge.

Following the introduction of a new coaching model, AJ announced his intention to pursue other coaching opportunities.

Director of Cricket, Kim Barnett said: “AJ has been a loyal servant of the Club both as a player and latterly since 2011 when he returned as a coach.

“A number of players have made good progress during his time at Derbyshire and he has also provided additional support to the First XI squad this last season.

“We respect AJ’s decision to move on and we wish him well in his future coaching career.”
