Chairman, Chris Grant, has announced that he will step down after the AGM on Wednesday 29 March in order to pave the way for him to stand for election to the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
Grant, who was elected to the Club’s Committee in August 2010 and became Chairman the following March, will have served six years as Chairman by the time of this year’s AGM.
Legal Director, Rob Tice, and Business Development Director, David Booth, have also decided to step down from their respective Supervisory Board roles at the same time.
The Club can confirm that by today’s closing deadline, the following members had been nominated to serve on the Supervisory Board in the specific roles for which they meet the qualifying criteria;

Chairman, Grant said: “Serving as Chairman of Derbyshire County Cricket Club for the last six years has been a huge honour. However, I have signalled my intention to stand for election to the ECB and I believe that by stepping down from my county role, I will be better equipped, if elected, to discharge the duties of a Director of the ECB without conflict.
“I am immensely proud of what we have achieved at Derbyshire over the last six years. Having rescued the Club from the brink of financial ruin back in 2010, we are set to announce a sixth successive year of surplus next month.
“On the field, we secured our first piece of silverware in nearly 20 years, and only the Club’s fifth ever trophy, when we won the County Championship Division Two title in 2012.
“It is also no exaggeration to say that The 3aaa County Ground is unrecognisable from what it used to be as a result of a £4million ground development programme, which will see the Club host the opening fixture of this year’s ICC Women’s World Cup and Sir Elton John in concert.

“The on-field re-organisation and recruitment this winter under Kim Barnett’s guidance should also ensure a far more competitive season on the pitch in 2017 and beyond.
“I am also delighted that six such well qualified candidates have put forward their nominations to take us forward. They will inherit a Club in very good shape.”
The six nominees for the Supervisory Board roles will now be formally elected at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 29 March.
Subject to official protocol on the night, there is unanimous support amongst the nominated candidates for Ian Morgan OBE to be elected to the role of Chairman.
Morgan, who has been a member at Derbyshire for the last seven years, is Deputy Chairman of the Wellglade Group, who operates Trent Barton Buses, and is a Board member and Business Representative of D2N2, the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).
He has also served as President and Board member of the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce, where he continues to play an active role, and is a member of the University of Derby Invest to Grow panel.
He was awarded an OBE in 2014 for services to business in the East Midlands.
