Former Derbyshire fast bowler Colin Tunnicliffe has been co-opted onto the Supervisory Board to fill the vacant Cricket Advisory Director role.

He will hold the position until the next Annual General Meeting at which a ballot for Supervisory Board membership is required, in March 2019.

Derby-born Tunnicliffe represented the county from 1973 to 1984 and was capped in 1977, making 317 appearances in total and taking 509 wickets.

He was also an instrumental member of the 1981 NatWest Trophy winning side, ending the competition as the leading wicket taker with 11 and hitting the winning run in the final at Lord’s.

Chairman, Ian Morgan said: “Colin is Derbyshire through and through, and we’re delighted that he has accepted to fill the vacant position.

“He’s won major trophies and has vast knowledge of the Club, and this will be valuable as we look to build on the progress made in 2017.”
