VIDEO: Critchley on overseas ECB placement

Matt Critchley says he is hungry for the start of the season after returning from his ECB men’s International Pathway placement in Australia.

All-rounder Critchley was awarded the overseas placement by the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and played for Randwick Petersham Cricket Club in New South Wales.

In addition to the placement, Critchley also gained specialist coaching with local experts such as former Australia leg-spinner Stuart MacGill and the renowned Western Australia batting coach Neil Holder.

Critchley said: “It’s good to be back and have a month to work on a few things technically then make sure that I’m ready and hungry by the time the first game comes in April.

“We’ve got Imran Tahir coming and I want to push him as much as I can, try and learn from him and gain his experiences to put into my own game.

“I like playing the white ball but I really want to nail my red ball skills and try and improve and make an impact in that as well this year.”
