Derby to host Twenty20 double header
Watch two Twenty20 games for only £10 this Tuesday, 15 August, as Derbyshire continue their quest for a NatWest T20 Blast quarter-final spot with a big home fixture versus Durham Jets.
Before the Falcons take on the Jets, 6.30pm start, the Loughborough Lightning, featuring Australia star all-rounder Ellyse Perry, take on Southern Vipers in the Kia Super League, starting at 2.30pm.
It’s a full day of cricket action at The 3aaa County Ground, and supporters can watch both games for just £10 as part of our Summer Special Offer. Buy your tickets today.
The Falcons go up against a Durham Jets side featuring ex-England ICC World Twenty20 winning captain Paul Collingwood who has been their standout performer in 2017.
Derbyshire enter their next NatWest T20 Blast still firmly in the hunt for a place in the knockout rounds, and with two home games still to go. And Wayne Madsen has called on the home support to get behind the Falcons this week.
Madsen said: “The crowds and support so far for our games at Chesterfield and Derby have been fantastic. It really does make a massive difference to us on the field.
“It’s always a huge boost for us as players and we’re going to try and put on a good performance for everyone who comes down.”
Loughborough Captain Georgia Elwiss says picking the team for the clash at Derby is going to be “a bit of a headache” because of the calibre of players in Lightning’s squad, which feature fellow internationals Amy Jones and Beth Langston from England, plus Elyse Villani and Kristen Beams from Australia.
They go up against a Southern Vipers squad which includes former England Captain Charlotte Edwards, world cup winner Danni Wyatt and New Zealand Captain Suzie Bates.
