Derbyshire will compete in two historic day/night first-class fixtures in 2017, as the full fixture list for the new season was announced.

In addition to the day/night first-class match versus West Indies at Derby in August, Derbyshire will also face Glamorgan in a day/night Specsavers County Championship at Cardiff and both will be played with pink Dukes balls.

There will be a full round of floodlit four-day games starting on Monday 26 June which breaks new ground for the County Championship, which has only featured one previous day/night match – a trial game between Kent and Glamorgan at Canterbury in 2011.

Tickets for all home Specsavers County Championship, Royal London One-Day Cup and Tour Fixtures go on sale on Monday 28 November at 10am. NatWest T20 Blast tickets go on sale in March 2017.

Membership 2017 is on sale now and offers one great value price for all next summer, with Club Membership only £139. Click HERE to read more.

Specsavers County Championship

The Specsavers County Championship season begins on April 7 with three matches in each division – the first of seven rounds that begin on a Friday, meaning a significant increase in the amount of weekend Championship cricket in 2017.

Derbyshire begin their Division Two campaign against Northamptonshire at The 3aaa County Ground, starting on Friday 14 April.

The Club will once again be taking first-class cricket to Chesterfield in 2017 with the recently-relegated Durham the visitors to Queen’s Park from Monday 3 July.

Billy Godleman’s side will also entertain neighbours Nottinghamshire in a four-day game for the first time since 2013 when the travel to The 3aaa County Ground on Sunday 6 August.

The Royal London One-Day Cup has been brought forward to the spring – meaning all the group matches will be played before the ICC Champions Trophy in June.

The top three teams in each of the two nine-team groups will qualify for knockout stages in mid-June, with the final at Lord’s on Saturday 1 July.

Derbyshire will begin their Road to Lord’s on Thursday 27 April with a trip to Chester-le-Street to face Durham.

NatWest T20 Blast

The NatWest T20 Blast will begin on Friday 7 July and will dominate the next seven weeks of the season – a major shift in emphasis for the competition, meaning the teams will play their 14 qualifying matches in a concentrated period in high summer rather than spread over three months as previously.

Derbyshire Falcons, who have appointed former New Zealand batsman and India coach John Wright as county cricket’s first specialist T20 coach, will begin their campaign against reigning champions Northants Steelbacks at Northampton.

The top four in each of the North and South groups will again qualify for the quarter finals, which will be played on four consecutive evenings from August 22-25, with the winners earning their places at Finals Day on Saturday 2 September at Edgbaston.
