Fred Rumsey will launch the Derbyshire Cricket Society Winter Programme 2019/20 on Thursday 31 October.

The event will take place in the Kappture Legends’ Lounge in the Air IT Elite Performance Centre at The Pattonair County Ground.

Rumsey played county cricket for Worcestershire, Somerset and Derbyshire, gaining five England test caps and taking 580 First Class wickets at an average of 20.29. His Derbyshire career spanned the years 1969 to 1973, primarily as a List A bowler, and he took 100 wickets at 18.44 in that format.

During his playing career Rumsey founded the Professional Cricketers’ Asociation (PCA), and also worked on fundraising and public relations for Somerset and Derbyshire. His autobiography Sense of Humour, Sense of Justice was published this year.

Future speakers in 2019/20 include Farokh Engineer, Harold Rhodes and Chris Lewis.
