Billy Godleman will miss the remainder of the 2017 season after breaking a bone in his right hand.
The Club Captain sustained the injury whilst batting on Day One of the Specsavers County Championship fixture versus Sussex at Hove and x-rays revealed a fracture in his right hand.
His hand will be in a cast for a period of weeks before then taking part in a rehab programme, with a view to be fit to re-join his teammates for pre-season training.
Vice Captain Gary Wilson will lead the side in the final two fixtures of the season, starting with the visit of Kent to Chesterfield from Tuesday 19 September.
