Lead Physiotherapist Fran Clarkson gives an update of current injuries within the squad.

Mattie McKiernan

All-rounder Mattie McKiernan suffered a lower-back stress fracture during the club’s pre-season training and he now begins rehabilitation after being ruled out of the county’s matches during the early part of the season.

Back in Derby, he has been assessed and has started the process in his early-stage rehabilitation and he will continue to work closely alongside Clarkson as he looks to get back to full fitness.

The 24-year-old signed a two-year contract with Derbyshire for the summer and the Derbyshire medical team is hopeful that McKiernan will be able to feature later in the season.

Alfie Gleadall

The fast bowler has made a full recovery from the lower-back stress fracture he sustained last year.

The 18-year-old has worked hard over the winter to return to full fitness, and has been involved with the club’s Second XI as he continues to build up his bowling workload.
