Falcons vs Rapids: Matchday Guide

Derbyshire Falcons host Worcestershire Rapids in the county’s final home NatWest T20 Blast group fixture this summer, on Friday 22 July, 7pm start, at The 3aaa County Ground.

The Falcons welcome the Rapids with both teams requiring a win to keep alive their hopes of a quarter-final place. Derbyshire are currently two points from a top four finish with two games remaining, and the Falcons need your support. 

If you are joining us for this fixture please read the information below which will ensure that your visit is safe, enjoyable and comfortable.

Ticket Information

Tickets will be available on the gate, which open at 5.30pm. The Club encourages supporters to plan their journey in advance and give plenty of time to arrive at the ground.

Tickets are available on the gate: Adults £20 (£16 in advance), Juniors £5 (£4 in advance), Students £5
Car Parking on the day: £5 (£4 in advance)

Ground Access & Parking

Please note for NatWest T20 Blast fixtures that a one-way system will be in place from the Pentagon Roundabout entrance to Sir Frank Whittle Road exit. Cars will not be able to access the road outside the ground via Sir Frank Whittle Road.

General Parking: Parking will be available at the west side of the ground in the compound, behind the large scoreboard and adjacent to the outdoor nets. Parking will be available to purchase on the day. A pay gate will be located at the west side of the ground to allow access to the ground.

While the Club will always try to accommodate all vehicles visiting the ground, admittance will be on a first come, first served basis. We ask that all visitors try and schedule their arrival at the ground, allowing plenty of time.

Parking for Car Park Pass holders: Car Park Pass holders are asked to use the Racecourse Car Park which can be accessed off St Marks Way, Chaddesden; DE21 6AF. Parking will be signposted. On approaching the car park, you will be met by one of our stewards who will direct you to the particular area reserved for Car Park Pass holders. Access to The 3aaa County Ground will be gained via an entrance at the rear of the Elite Performance Centre, next to the toilet ramp. Stewards will be on hand to guide you into the ground.

Parking for Executive Members and Hospitality: Parking will be available via the main entrance at The 3aaa Pavilion, off Pentagon Roundabout.

Ground Access: Spectators can access the ground by foot via the main 3aaa Pavilion gates or via the pay gates at the west side of the ground, behind the Defabs building. Gates open at 5.30pm.

Seats and viewing: Spectators will be able to access all areas of the ground except for the Racecourse End due to the on-going work on the new Media Centre complex.

Food and Drink

Additional catering units will be available for all NatWest T20 Blast fixtures this summer. Extra bars will be brought in, including the popular London Bus bar, and will be located around the ground, while more catering units will also be available. Please be advised that supporters are not permitted to bring their own alcohol into the ground.

The Boundary Tea Room and Cafe, with a new refreshed menu for 2016, will be open, while Members, and non-Members who sign in, will be able to purchase food and drink from the Members Lounge on the top floor of the 3aaa Pavilion.

Family Entertainment

There’s plenty going on around the ground on Friday night. Challenge your friends to a match on one of our table football game at the back of the Showcase Cinema de Lux Family Stand. There’s also a giant Scalextric set located at the back of the Family Stand, while there will be a chance to show off your batting skills in our batting challenge next to the Club Shop.

There will also be the usual free giveaways, including the return of the hairy headbands, plus a giant inflatable helmet which you can get your picture with. Stick around immediately after the game when the Derbyshire players will be available to sign a few autographs over the boundary fence or pose for a selfie for your Instagram.

Don’t forget to visit our new Club Shop, with a range of items available, located next to the 3aaa Pavilion. From replica kits to cricket balls, the shop offers a range of Derbyshire Falcons merchandise and match souvenirs.
