Derbyshire make their second overseas signing for the Vitality Blast as the club sees record sales for the tournament’s opening fixture against Yorkshire Vikings.

Richardson signs

Derbyshire has signed Australia fast bowler, Kane Richardson, for this summer’s Vitality Blast competition, subject to final approvals.

The Big Bash League winner, who was the leading wicket-taker in this year’s tournament with 24 at an average under 18, will be available for the entire campaign.

He joins Logan van Beek as Derbyshire’s second overseas signing and will lead the Falcons’ bowling attack under new Twenty20 Head Coach, Dominic Cork.

England tickets on sale now

Tickets are on sale now for England versus Windies in the Vitality International T20 at The Pattonair County Ground on Tuesday 25 June, 7pm start.

Heather Knight’s side, who recently completed a T20 series victory over India, finished as runners-up in the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 2018 with a number of standout performances from an exciting young team.

Record Vitality Blast sales

Over 1,000 tickets have already been sold for the Vitality Blast clash against Yorkshire Vikings at Queen’s Park on Saturday 20 July.

The hotly-contested local derby, which sold out in 2017 and 2018, has already reached one fifth of the 5,000 spectator capacity and is expected to sell out well in advance of the fixture.

Over 800 tickets were sold during an exclusive pre-sale window, with a further 200 snapped up following the Vitality Blast general on sale day on Monday 4 March.

Derbyshire support #HeathersPride

Derbyshire are teaming up with the ECB and eight other counties hosting England Women’s cricket this year to offer lucky winners the chance to train with Heather Knight and her England squad.

The competition, launched by Knight, will give 11 girls across the country a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join the England captain and the rest of her team for a training session ahead of the Ashes.
