It’s the big local derby versus Notts Outlaws on Friday night at The 3aaa County Ground – and with them comes big hitting all-rounder Andre Russell.

The West Indies superstar all-rounder, who goes by the nickname Dre Russ, comes with a big reputation for hitting big sixes, spectacular catches and fearsome bowling.

The former Sydney Thunder batsman even hit his own teammate, Shane Watson, out of the Spotless Stadium and into the car park in training.

Falcons fans will be hoping their team keep the 28-year-old quiet.

This Season…

So far this season the all-rounder has made one appearance for Notts in the NatWest T20 Blast, against Worcestershire Rapids.

The Jamaican-born player posted bowling figures of 2-28 to go along with a batting performance of 41 runs off 29 balls, including three sixes.

Russell featured in the Twenty20 World Cup for the West Indies and most notably delivered four sixes in his 43 in the semi-final victory against India in Mumbai.

Previous Seasons…

Russell is a Twenty20 specialist. He was the first player to take four wickets in four successive deliveries in Twenty20 cricket worldwide.

After signing for the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014, he has played 27 matches and has notched over 500 runs for the Indian Premier League franchise. Before being signed by the Knight Riders in 2011, he played for the Delhi Daredevils.

What He Said…

After his Notts Outlaws debut, Russell said: “I’m happy with the way things went because I haven’t played any cricket for the past four weeks.

“My body is used to ‘keep going, keep going’. Coming here and playing, it was a bit tough but I’m happy to be back on the park.

“I was pleased to get a couple of wickets, and smashing a couple of sixes out of the ground is a great way to start and I hope better can come in the future.”
