Only eight overs were bowled on Day One of the Second XI Championship game against Nottinghamshire at The Pattonair County Ground.

After winning the toss, the visitors put Derbyshire into bat. Ewan Cox fell for a score of three before rain washed out the rest of the day’s play, leaving the hosts on 11-1 heading into Day Two.

Cox opened the batting with Tyler McGladdery, and the pair played through the first five overs before Cox was bowled by Zak Chappell (1-5).

McGladdery and Wood batted for a further three overs, before rain put an end to the day’s proceedings with less only 45 minutes of cricket played.

The pair will resume on Day Two with Derbyshire 11-1. McGladdery will begin the day on four not out, while Wood is unbeaten on three.
