Pre-Match Talk

Ben Slater says the side have batted well over the four Royal London One-Day Cup games and that there is no reason why they can’t come away with a good result at Lancashire tomorrow.

Slater hit 82 in the Falcons’ four-wicket win over Warwickshire on Wednesday, which included nine fours and one six. He currently averages 56.75 in the Royal London One-Day this summer.

The 25-year-old said: “We have batted well over the four games, 300 three times and a 290 yesterday and we are batting well so there’s no reason why we can’t go up there and come away with a good result.

“Another win tomorrow then take back to back wins going into Leicester on Sunday there’s no reason why if we string a couple of wins together we can’t be up there by the end of it.”
