Second XI defeat Somerset

Derbyshire Second XI secured a three-wicket win over Somerset Seconds in a three-day Friendly at Taunton School, with trialist Jonathan Tattersall (pictured above) scoring a century.

Opening the batting, Tattersall carried his bat throughout Derbyshire’s chase, scoring 124 not out, and also shared a century stand with Greg Cork (64) as the visitors successfully chased down 260 with three wickets to spare.

The target was earlier set at 260 after Matt Critchley had earlier taken 5-67 as Somerset declared their second innings on 230-9d, having previously secured a 29-run lead from the first innings.

Elsewhere, there were three wickets for Tom Milnes (3-36) and one for Tom Knight (1-39) on Day Three, whilst Johann Myburgh top-scored for Somerset with 74.
