Derbyshire Second XI secured two victories over Yorkshire Vikings, by five wickets and by 43 runs, in the Second XI Twenty20 competition at Harrogate Cricket Club on Wednesday.

New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham starred in the first match, claiming 4-21 off his four overs, as the Falcons restricted their hosts to 126-9 from their 20 overs. Scott Elstone (3-21) and Andy Carter (2-13) were also amongst the wickets.

The visitors chased down their target with nine balls and five wickets to spare, thanks to a well-made unbeaten half-century from Alex Hughes, that came from 39 balls and included seven fours and a six. Neesham and Jonathan Tattersall both also made important contributions, scoring 22 and 19 respectively.

In the second match, the Falcons batted first and managed to score 181-6 from their 20 overs with Tom Knight smashing 61 from just 28 deliveries with three fours and six maximums.

Tattersall continued his good day to hit an unbeaten 40, having come in at three for Derbyshire, whilst Hughes added 20 and Rob Hemmings ended 17 not out.

In the Yorkshire reply, Carter (2-15) continued his good T20 form to pick up another two wickets, whilst Callum Parkinson (2-17) and Hemmings (2-30) also picked up two wickets piece, as the hosts were restricted to 138-8, giving Derbyshire victory by 43 runs.
