Seconds slip to T20 defeats

Derbyshire Second XI were beaten by six wickets and 32 runs in two Twenty20 fixtures versus Lancashire Second XI at Glossop Cricket Club.

Batting first in the first match, Derbyshire made 116-9 from their 20 overs, with Alex Hughes and Ben Slater top scoring with 46 and 34 respectively. Wes Durston claimed 3-21 from his four overs in the Lancashire reply but  Jordan Clark top-scored with 37 as they reached their target with six wickets in hand.

Lancashire were also successful in the second match, in which they batted first and scored 152-4. Clark again was the high-scorer, hitting 47 from 38, whilst Durston took 2-22 to continue his good day with the ball.

In reply, Derbyshire were dismissed for 120 within 18 overs with Daniel Lamb returning 4-23. Durston hit 27 from 19 deliveries, and Greg Cork scored 25, but it wasn’t enough as Lancashire came out on top by 32 runs.
