Derbyshire Second XI lead by 68 runs going into the final day of their Second XI Championship fixture with Yorkshire, Tom Milnes following his day one batting performance with figures of 3-21.

Greg Cork (2-25), Callum Parkinson (2-54) and Gibbs (2-49) all took a brace each as Derbyshire bowled Yorkshire all out for 248, securing a 31-run first-innings lead.

Callis (6) was the first casualty for Cork in the eleventh over, then a knock of 76 for Gibson spanned two partnerships for Yorkshire. Firstly, a stand of 51 with Brook (39), who was lbw to Cork, before a 78-run partnership with Club Captain Gale (33) was ended by Gibbs.

Gibson was eventually removed by Parkinson, before he then took the wicket of Matthew Waite (11) caught by Broderick. Ten overs passed and then Milnes struck with two in two balls starting with Thompson (17), who was bowled clean, and ending with James Wainman (0), caught behind by Sookias.

Yorkshire didn’t make another run leading up to Conners (1-68) and Sookias’ dismissal of Brooks shortly after leaving them on 217-9. Karl Carver made 19 and then Milnes completed his three wickets with the removal of Ryan Sidebottom (0), Yorkshire all out for 248.

Milnes (5*) and Cork (1*) remain at the crease for Derbyshire leading into day three with a lead of 68, but a loss of early wickets means they are 37-5 in the second innings.
