VIDEO: Welch on Derbyshire's start to pre-season

Wednesday 25th November 2015
Written by Danny Painter

Elite Performance Director Graeme Welch says he’s been pleased with the squad’s approach to the first few weeks of pre-season as the side began their preparations for the 2016 season.

Welch has overseen the start of pre-season since the squad reported back for training at the beginning of November. Training has included fitness sessions with Strength & Conditioning Coach, Dr Jamie Tallent, and technical work with Welch and Elite Performance Coaches Ant Botha, John Sadler and Fielding Coach, Cookie Patel.

Welch says the squad “have been working really hard” over the last fortnight, but insists this is just the start of a long pre-season. It has also been a chance for Welch to begin working with new signing Andy Carter, who joined the Club on a two-year deal in October.
