Known simply as Whispering Death, Michael Holding is a fast bowling great, one of the greatest exports of West Indies cricket; dominant in an era when the Caribbean produced a plethora of pace bowling talent.
With one of the longest and most infamous run-ups in the game, he was stealth personified and one of the quickest of all time.
He defines the fast bowler and unsurprisingly was a highly popular figure at Derbyshire County Cricket Club during his prolific stint with the Club between 1983 and 1989.
The fearsome quick took 224 wickets across 66 first-class matches at an average of 24, with best figures of 7-97.
His impact was even more impressive in List A cricket, claiming 154 wickets in 112 matches, at an average of 20 and an economy rate of 3.5 runs per over.
Once his stellar 17-year career came to an end in 1989, Holding has become a natural broadcaster, using his extensive knowledge of the game to inform viewers worldwide.
Holding remains a keen supporter of the Club and has been President since March 2017.
