Current statistics

Another young, locally produced cricketer, Sam Conners made the most of his opportunities over recent seasons in the absence of senior bowlers and ended the 2022 summer having played 58 all-formats matches taking 117 wickets.

With a strong, repeatable action, and an appetite for bowling – and the capacity for taking wickets early in a spell –  Conners looks to have a fine future ahead of him as an opening bowler.

He was awarded his County Cap in 2022 after taking 50 County Championship wickets plus a List A best of Five for 28 against Yorkshire at Chesterfield.

With the bat he produced one of his best performances in 2020, scoring five not out in a last-wicket partnership of eighty with Leus du Plooy in the thrilling win against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

Recognised by a call-up to the England Lions, and awarded his County Cap at the end of 2022, Conners appears to have a splendid future ahead of him.
