Derbyshire welcome Gloucestershire to The 3aaa County Ground in the Specsavers County Championship tomorrow, with the hosts hoping to secure their first four-day win of the season.

The meeting between the sides earlier in the season ended in a draw, with Wayne Madsen and Chesney Hughes both hitting hundreds at Bristol.

Recent History

In the last five matches between the sides in the Specsavers County Championship, Derbyshire have won two, with three draws, giving the home side the upper edge.

The previous five meetings at The 3aaa County Ground have seen three draws, one Derbyshire win in 2011 and one win for Gloucestershire.

Wayne Madsen scored 150 in the game earlier in the season, and has averaged 60.43 in his last five matches with Gloucestershire.

Tony Palladino is Derbyshire’s top wicket taker in the Specsavers County Championship, he has taken 26 wickets at an average of 36.11, the returning Will Davis is third on that list with 14 wickets.

Wayne Madsen is Derbyshire’s top run scorer in the Specsavers County Championship, with 1,015 runs. He passed the 1,000 run mark in Derbyshire’s previous fixture with Essex and it’s the fourth successive year he has passed 1,000 first-class runs.

Gloucestershire’s Chris Dent is their top run scorer with 883 runs, his highest score of the summer, 180, came against Derbyshire earlier in the season.

Milestones

849 – Off the back of his hundred against Essex, Billy Godleman needs 151 runs to reach 1,000 Specsavers County Championship runs in a season for the second consecutive season.

348 – Tony Palladino needs just two wickets in order to reach 350 career first-class wickets.
