Trent Rockets, who will feature at The Pattonair County Ground next summer, today added big-hitting Australian Elyse Villani to their squad for The Hundred.

Villani, currently captain of Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League, is No.3 on the list of Australia’s all-time run-scorers in IT20 cricket.

She will join the England duo of Nat Sciver and Katherine Brunt, as well as Australian international teammate Sophie Molineux.

Villani said: “I’m really looking forward to playing for Trent Rockets. I had some great times playing at Loughborough Lightning in the Kia Super League and it will be nice to link up with Sal [Saliann Briggs] again.

“It’s always hugely exciting to play in tournaments like The Hundred, you can see it’s going to be a really good standard of cricket from the players already announced and it will be nice to play alongside Nat and Katherine, as well as Soph, of course.”

Villani and her Trent Rockets side will play in Derby next summer as the Women’s Hundred competition comes to The Pattonair County Ground.
