VIDEO: Reece on fundraising challenges

Thursday 17th January 2019
Written by Danny Painter

Luis Reece talks about his year-long fundraising aims in what promises to be the 28-year-old’s busiest season to date.

After a prolific opening season with Derbyshire in 2017, during which he scored 732 first-class runs including two centuries, Reece began last summer brightly before his season was curtailed by a metatarsal injury.

It was at this point he came up with the unique fundraising idea, which sees him take on his busiest year to date.

Grouped as ‘Luis’ Charity Challenges’, the fundraising began in earnest before Christmas as Reece took part in a Top Gear themed race from London to Bolton in what was the public’s popular choice of challenge.

Each month he will take suggestions for challenges, which will then be narrowed down and voted on to see what the all-rounder will take on next.

All proceeds will be split between the Professional Cricketers’ Trust, Mind and Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). three charities close to Reece.
