Player of the Month Nominees

Harvey Hosein

The 20-year old wicketkeeper could do nothing wrong with the bat when he embarked on his final month of the season on the back of a half century against Gloucestershire and stretched his run to five consecutive fifty plus scores by the end of the month.

The right-hander recorded an unbeaten 83 and 58 against Leicestershire before hitting his maiden first-class century, 108 not out, against Worcestershire. His century came in difficult circumstances, arriving at the crease with the score on 59-4, wickets continued to fall around him but Hosein remained defiant and steered the visitors past 200.

He scored 308 runs in four innings across the two matches, at an average of 103.

Wayne Madsen

Madsen continued his fine form this season in September, ending the 2016 campaign with centuries in successive matches as he finished the campaign with a carer-best tally of 1,292 runs.

After scoring a unbeaten 134 to help put his side in the ascendancy against Leicestershire, the right-hander hit 100 off 122 balls at New Road the following week.

In total, he scored 277 runs this month at an average of 92.

Tony Palladino

Palladino lead the attack this month, claiming eight wickets at an average of 22 in two matches and helping to put Derbyshire close to their first victory of the season against Leicestershire at The 3aaa County Ground.

The pacemen took seven wickets in the match against Leicestershire, claiming figures of 3-27 and 4-64. The quartet of wickets came on the final day to put the hosts in a match-winning position, but the visitors held on for a draw.
