In a new feature, the Club will be showcasing videos from the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation’s Oral History of Cricket in Derbyshire project, as we look at some #WeAreDerbyshire Stories.

The project, which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, has recorded recollections from almost 200 participants, including former and current players, and focused on audio-visual reminiscences about cricket at every level within the county, from grassroots to the Test arena.

It is this fabric of players, coaches, volunteers and supporters which all contribute greatly to make up cricket in Derbyshire.

In this first edition of #WeAreDerbyshire Stories, we look at part one of an extended interview with Derbyshire batsman, Wayne Madsen. In this edition, he talks about his beginnings in cricket and breaking into the Derbyshire side back in 2009.
