Throughout the 2020 pre-season tour of Zimbabwe, in partnership with Briggs of Burton, we will be catching up with the players and coaches as they prepare for the new domestic campaign.
Wayne Madsen is delighted to be back with the Derbyshire squad as they get ready to begin outdoor training.
The batsman trained at The Pattonair County Ground throughout January, before being drafted by the Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League last month.
He has now joined up with the side for the pre-season tour, and is excited to work in the Zimbabwean conditions.
“It’s brilliant to arrive here and touch base with everyone. I haven’t seen some of the guys since the end of the season, so it’s been great to catch up as we gear towards the start of the season in April,” said Madsen
“I’m super excited (to start training outdoors). Personally, I have been training in the outdoor nets in Pakistan, so I have a bit of a head start on some of the guys.
“For the guys who have been working inside for the last couple of months, it will be great to get outside and back on the grass again.”
