In his first interview since joining-up with the Derbyshire squad, Fynn Hudson-Prentice discusses his desire to cement a place in the first team.

The all-rounder has joined Derbyshire on a three-year-deal, after putting in a string of impressive performances for the Second XI during the first three months of the season.

The former Sussex man now wants to make an impression within the Derbyshire side, and hopes that he can nail down a spot in the first team by continuing his form with the seconds.

“I think that it is every cricketer’s dream to play first-class cricket, before maybe going on to further honours. My first aim is to try and push for a place here,” he said.

“We have a very talented squad, there is a big group of lads and they are all doing really well at the moment. There have been a couple of bad games, but in them there have been some very good performances.

“It looks like it is going to be a struggle to break into, so I have just got to keep plying my trade in the seconds, score runs and put them under pressure. It is a really talented group and I can’t really ask for much more.”
