Ahead of his first full season at Derbyshire, Anuj Dal is looking forward to a busy summer as the squad continue to prepare for the first game in April.

The 22 year-old was a regular in the Vitality Blast last summer, while he made his first-class debut away to Sussex, setting the tone with his high-energy performances and a top-score of 35 against Worcestershire Rapids in July.

Dal was in good touch in white-ball training and he hailed the positive impact of the new coaching set up at Derbyshire.

He said: “It’s been really good so far, the lads have been really enjoying it.

“Sometimes the winter process can be a long few months but with the new coaching staff, Mal [Loye], Houghts [David Houghton] and Kirbs [Steve Kirby], it’s been really positive so far.

“I can’t wait for the season to start, it is crazy to think that the season is only 10 or 11 weeks away.

“I’m really looking forward to the build-up now and not long to go.”
