Wayne Madsen is hoping to use his experience in the Pakistan Super League to help improve himself and his Derbyshire teammates this summer.
All-rounder Madsen has returned to training at The Pattonair County Ground after reaching the PSL final with Peshawar Zalmi in his first experience of Twenty20 cricket overseas.
The 35-year-old is now excited for the domestic season to start, ahead of the Specsavers County Championship curtain raiser against Durham at The Pattonair County Ground, starting on Friday April 5.
Madsen said: “There is a lot of knowledge gained from the players that I played with, against and the coaches.
“Being able to pass some of that stuff onto the team will hopefully improve us as a squad and as a team for having been there.
“I’m very excited, being able to join back up with the boys and getting back into it has been great.
“It’s a couple of weeks until we start the proper stuff with the Durham game but obviously we had a bit of preparation before that so I’m really excited to start the season and get going with the red ball.”
