With still 4 weeks to go, the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation (CDF) has unveiled the 2018 t-shirt design ‘42,000 Steps’ for the T20 Walkathon, sponsored by Smith Partnership.
The t-shirt design has been designed by Sach Parmar at Black Apricot Creative in Derby and is called ‘42,000 Steps’.
Project Manager, Aidan Wheeler said: “We were delighted that Sach stepped forward and offered to design our T20 Walkathon t-shirts for 2018. This year’s shirt features the 20-mile route from Trent Bridge, Nottingham, to The 3aaa County Ground in Derby.
“One the basis that the average number of steps a walker takes is around 2,100 per mile, we estimate that our Walkathoners will cover around 42,000 steps during the route before they sit down to enjoy the Vitality Blast match versus Notts Outlaws at The 3aaa County Ground.”
Parmar added: “The 42,000 steps concept reflects the increasing number of people who like to think about distance in terms of the steps and the value that walking can have as part of an active lifestyle.
“We’re delighted to be able to support the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation in this way.”
By registering now, Walkathoners can ensure they get the specially designed t-shirt in the size of their choice.
The T20 Walkathon will see fundraisers walk 20 miles from Trent Bridge, Nottingham, to The 3aaa County Ground, Derby, on Friday 13 July ahead of the Vitality Blast derby between Derbyshire Falcons and Notts Outlaws (7pm start, approx. 9.45pm finish).
All walkers will receive bus travel to Trent Bridge, donated by Trent Barton, for the start of the walk, a sponsored walk t-shirt and an event pack.
The registration fee, of £25, also includes safety stewards, ticket for the Vitality Blast match and on arrival in Derby a hog roast roll and complimentary drink, courtesy of Greene King.
Companies, meanwhile, are invited to submit one or more teams of four staff members to represent them in the Rock Fall Team Challenge, at £100 for a team of four.
All proceeds raised will go to the CDF (Charity No. 1155801) and will support the delivery of a range of community projects to young people across the county, using the power of sport.
