The BRM Solicitors Chesterfield Festival of Cricket, in association with Chesterfield Borough Council, will return to Queen’s Park in 2023.
The picturesque ground will again play host to traditional LV= County Championship cricket, as well as vibrant Vitality Blast action at the height of summer.
Having produced a dominant performances to defeat Middlesex and Yorkshire Vikings in County Championship and T20 respectively in 2022, 2023’s Festival of Cricket promises to be bigger than ever, with Derbyshire hosting the White Rose county for five days this summer.
Mickey Arthur’s side first face Yorkshire in first-class action, starting on Sunday 11 June, before the two sides meet in the Vitality Blast on Sunday 18 June, with the Falcons looking to extend their long unbeaten streak against their local rivals in T20s at Queen’s Park.
Leus du Plooy smashed 19 off the final over last season to clinch a dramatic win for Derbyshire, and the squad will be aiming to produce something big once again, with the SA20 star joined by big-hitting Pakistan batter, Haider Ali, Wayne Madsen and Sri Lanka legend, Suranga Lakmal.
England Lions duo, Sam Conners and George Scrimshaw, enjoyed success in Chesterfield last season, as did Scotland spinner Mark Watt, and all three will be aiming for similar this time around.
