Derbyshire abroad: McDermott, Critchley and Reece in action

Ben McDermott struck 33 from 24 deliveries as Hobart Hurricanes were defeated by Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash. 

Australia international, McDermott, smashed three sixes as he helped Hobart to a score of 162-6 from their 20 overs, with George Bailey’s 43 top-scoring for the visitors.

Sydney chased-down the total with two balls to spare, after Alex Hales hit a 36-ball 55, including six fours and two sixes, to win by four wickets.

Matt Critchley

Matt Critchley claimed 2-40 as Fairfield-Liverpool were beaten by Sydney in the NSW Premier Cricket – First Grade 50-Over fixture.

The Derbyshire all-rounder dismissed Matthew Rodgers (100) and Justin Mosca (15) as Sydney made a total of 311-9 in their innings.

Critchley opened the batting for Fairfield-Liverpool, and hit one four and one six on his way to 26, before being dismissed by Ryan Felsch, as his side were bowled out for 168 inside 44 overs.

Luis Reece

Luis Reece bowled two overs in Dhaka Platoon’s defeat to Chattogram Challengers in the Bangladesh Premier League.

Chris Gayle top-scored with 38 as Chattogram chased down a target of 145 inside 18 overs, despite Reece only conceding ten runs from his 12 deliveries.

The all-rounder has claimed one wicket and conceded 21 runs in two appearances in the competition, with Dhaka currently fourth in the table, winning seven of their 12 matches.
