He has also played in 34 List A matches, taking 45 wickets at an average of 25 with an economy rate of five. In total, he has played in 130 matches across all forms, returning 347 wickets.
Cricket Advisor, Kim Barnett said: “We’re delighted to sign Duanne for the first half of the season. He comes highly recommended and will offer further depth to our seam attack.
“We identified new ball bowling as an area we wanted to strengthen, especially for the first half of the season in red and white ball cricket.
“He is a tall, quick bowler who is keen to prove himself and he will give us another quality option with the ball. We look forward to welcoming Duanne to Derbyshire.”
Olivier added: “I’m really looking forward to joining Derbyshire for the first half of 2018 and playing both red and one-day cricket. The Club has shared its ambitions for the new season and I hope I can play my part in a successful start to the new campaign.”
