HIGHLIGHTS: Day Four vs Gloucestershire

Monday 15th April 2019
Written by Danny Painter

Wayne Madsen (204*) and Alex Hughes (109*) hit an unbeaten and a club-record 278-run fourth-wicket stand to secure a draw for Derbyshire at The Bristol County Ground.

Madsen was in impervious form after resuming on the final day with a slender lead and eight wickets in hand and a draw far from safe.

Tom Lace made 57 before he was out, bringing Hughes to the crease to join Madsen. The pair were rarely troubled as they broke a 118-year old club record for the fourth wicket against Gloucestershire, reaching 388-3d at the close to guarantee a draw and top-spot in Specsavers County Championship Division Two.
