Luis Reece hit his maiden List A century but Derbyshire lost to Worcestershire by four wickets in the final Royal London One-Day Cup match at The Pattonair County Ground.

Wayne Madsen (113) also hit his second century of the campaign as he combined with Reece (128) for a double-century partnership to take the hosts to a total of 351-9.

Matt Critchley (3-72) took three wickets but centuries from Riki Wessels (130) and Callum Ferguson (103 not out) carried Worcestershire to a four-wicket victory with ten balls to spare.

Godleman fell without scoring in the first over, but Madsen joined the fluent Reece as the pair brought up their half-century partnership to take the score to 59-1 after ten overs.

Madsen continued to become the tenth Derbyshire batsman to reach 3,000 List A runs for the county, before Reece passed fifty for the second time in the campaign.

The hosts powered past 100 as Madsen also reached fifty, with both batsmen striking multiple boundaries to bring up the century partnership.

All-rounder Madsen was in fine form, using the ramp shot to good effect, as he and Reece accelerated the score to 177-1 at the halfway point.

Madsen was the first to reach his century, taking only 36 balls after bringing up his fifty, before Reece also raised his bat aloft to record his maiden List A century.

The pair then brought up the double-century partnership, a record second-wicket stand against Worcestershire in List A cricket.

The partnership was worth 222 runs before Madsen eventually fell for a fine 113, before Reece cleared the rope to power Derbyshire past 250.

Tom Lace (15) was out caught in the deep, before Reece also fell shortly after for 128.

Alex Hughes and Critchley added 53 for the fifth wicket, before two wickets fell in quick succession to take the score to 336-6.

Hughes was then dismissed for a quick-fire 43, as the hosts posted 351-9 after 50 overs to record Derbyshire’s fifth highest List A total in the county’s history.

Worcestershire started strongly in reply, as Wessels and Tom Fell brought up their half-century partnership to take the score to 73-0 after ten overs.

Wessels then reached his half-century before hitting several boundaries to record his century off 47 balls and accelerate the score to 150-0.

Hughes came into the attack to break the partnership as he bowled Fell for 49, before Critchley took the big wicket to remove Wessels for 130.

Critchley then took his second in quick succession to dismiss Rhodes (15) as Derbyshire continued to slow the rate after a quick start from the visitors.

The all-rounder had his third when Brett D’Oliveira (7) chopped on, before Ben Cox joined Ferguson to add 46 for the fifth wicket.

Ferguson then brought up his century off 91 balls to guide the visitors to a four-wicket victory as Worcestershire completed the highest List A chase against Derbyshire in the club’s history.
