Billy Godleman is set to return to action this weekend in the Specsavers County Championship fixture at Northamptonshire after recovering from a thumb injury.

The Club’s four-day Captain was hit on the hand in training before the university fixture versus Durham MCCU at the start of April and sustained a small fracture in his left thumb.

X-rays this week revealed that the break has now healed and he has been declared fit for this week’s fixture at Northampton, starting on Sunday.

Elite Performance Director, Graeme Welch said: “He went to the consultant and the consultant said the break has healed totally and it was just a matter of whether he wanted to get back out and play.

“Billy was disappointed to miss the last two games and he’s champing at the bit to get back out there, so it’s good to have him back.”
