Over 1,000 Yorkshire tickets sold
Over 1,000 tickets have already been sold for the Vitality Blast clash against Yorkshire Vikings at Queen’s Park on Saturday 20 July.
The hotly-contested local derby, which sold out in 2017 and 2018, has already reached one fifth of the 5,000 spectator capacity and is expected to sell out well in advance of the fixture.
Over 800 tickets were sold during an exclusive pre-sale window, with a further 200 snapped up following the Vitality Blast general on sale day on Monday 4 March.
Derbyshire will be looking to make it three wins in a row over Yorkshire at Chesterfield when the Vitality Blast opener gets underway at 2.30pm on Saturday 20 July.
Matt Critchley sealed the win for the home side last summer with a devastating late unbeaten knock, which saw him strike 22 off the final over to give Derbyshire victory against the odds.
This year, Derbyshire will be led by new Twenty20 Head Coach, Dominic Cork, in the race for a maiden Finals Day appearance.
Chief Executive, Ryan Duckett, said: “It’s excellent to see such a positive response to our pre-sale window and the general on sale date this week.
“We’ve seen record early sales for Vitality Blast matches, including the Yorkshire fixture which has reached 1,000 tickets sold quicker than ever.
“We wanted to freeze our Vitality Blast prices and encourage even more supporters to watch Twenty20 cricket after seeing record crowds in recent seasons and it’s pleasing to see so many people buying tickets for the first time.
“It’s always one of the highlights of the calendar each year and hopefully under Dominic Cork as Twenty20 Head Coach, Derbyshire can make it three wins in a row in front of a sell-out crowd.”
