Falcons return to One-Day Cup action

Derbyshire Falcons return to Royal London One-Day Cup action with a trip to Welbeck Colliery to face Notts Outlaws on Sunday 24 July; 11am start. 

The match is set to be the Falcons’ first outing in the competition since the start of June when they defeated Durham at The 3aaa County Ground by seven wickets. And the Falcons will be looking to maintain their good form in the competition, with the county currently sitting top of the North Group after going unbeaten in the opening four games.

Derbyshire have named a 14-man squad for the trip to face Notts. Tony Palladino is named in his first one-day squad of the summer, while Wes Durston is set to captain the side in the competition for the first time in 2016 after missing the opening four games due to injury.

Opposition

Notts Outlaws arrive at Welbeck with a squad full of international talent, including the returning Jake Ball after he was released from the England Test squad.

The Outlaws also feature England internationals Michael Lumb, Samit Patel and Harry Gurney, former Zimbabwe batsman Brendan Taylor and Australia all-rounder Dan Christian,

Notts currently sit fourth in the North Group, but victory in Welbeck would move them above the Falcons. Michael Lumb will be the danger man for the Outlaws as he is currently the top run scorer in the competition with 422 runs at an average of 140.
