Derbyshire Second XI are in control of the Championship match versus Leicestershire after bowling them out for 173, before Scott Elstone scored 66 to help his side to 112-2 at the close on Day Two.

Ben Cotton added one to his three wickets on Day One, whilst Shiv Thakor returned 3-20 as Derbyshire took wickets at regular intervals to reduce the visitors to 173 all out. The other three Leicestershire wickets fell to Tom Milnes (2-42) and Greg Cork (1-9).

The hosts’ reply was led by opener Elstone, who hit 66 at a little over a-run-a-ball to ensure that his side took full advantage of a good all-round bowling performance.

At the close, Derbyshire were 112-2 with Captain Alex Hughes 28 not out and Thakor unbeaten on two after trialist Jonathan Tattersall had earlier scored 10.
