The players’ dressing rooms and the entrance to the new pavilion building are taking shape, as the first phase of Ground Development continues at The 3aaa County Ground.
Players and coaching staff have had their first opportunities to view their new home come the start of April 2015, and all have been impressed with what they have seen.
On completion, the Gateway Centre will be transformed into the Cricket Derbyshire Cricket Centre of Excellence with all the players’ facilities improved and under one roof. The players’ dining room will be located on the top floor, which will also accommodate hospitality guests on matchdays.
The new internal corridors have been created and the Chief Executive’s former office has already been converted into the Umpire’s dressing room. This will offer the umpires an ideal view of the ground and provide them with modern changing facilities.
The Lund Pavilion, meanwhile, will become an exclusive venue for Members and, on non-matchdays, a 300-seater state-of-the-art Conference & Events venue.
The main structural difference will be the addition of a brand new two-storey extension featuring a reception area and a lift, whilst the interior will see a comprehensive makeover with the creation of an air-conditioned Conference & Events space.
The first floor room will include a room divider which will be used on matchdays to allow for a Members’ room as well as a new Executive Suite. Additionally, the existing balcony will be extended to double its present size.
