All-rounder Wayne White returns from injury and features in Graeme Welch’s 14-man Derbyshire Falcons squad to face Leicestershire Foxes in the NatWest T20 Blast at Grace Road on Friday, 5.30pm start.

The 29-year-old joined Derbyshire at the start of the season after spending the latter part of last season on loan at The 3aaa County Ground from Lancashire.

He has returned from injury to be included in the squad which will see him join up with the same 13 players who made the trip to Headingley to face Yorkshire Vikings in last week’s NatWest T20 Blast curtain raiser.

Hashim Amla (29), Chesney Hughes (27) and Tom Poynton (27 off 18 balls) all showed form with the bat against Yorkshire in the tournament opener last week while Ben Cotton claimed 2-19 in a game where Yorkshire were victorious by seven wickets.

Nathan Rimmington, Wayne Madsen, Tony Palladino and Jonathan Clare, however, all miss out due to injury.

Leicestershire Foxes are the most successful English county in T20 cricket history, winning the tournament on three occasions, with their last triumph coming back in 2011.

Their 2015 NatWest T20 Blast campaign began with a last-ball defeat against Lancashire Lightning in an absorbing encounter at Old Trafford.

Leicestershire scored 131-7 from their 15 overs in a rain-affected contest, but Lancashire’s Steven Croft hit a boundary off the final ball of his side’s innings to ensure they reached 142-5 and won by five wickets via the Duckworth/Lewis method.

The foxes are led by the big-hitting Mark Cosgrove, and have a bowling attack spearheaded by fellow Australian Clint McKay who is particularly effective in the shorter formats of the game.

New Zealander Grant Elliott provides some fire-power in the middle order, as does Ireland’s Kevin O’Brien who is capable of performing the finishing role in the closing stages of an innings.
