Tillakaratne Dilshan is due to return to the Falcons side to face Leicestershire Foxes on Thursday night in his final NatWest T20 Blast appearance this summer.
The batting all-rounder missed this week’s LV= County Championship fixture versus Essex due to personal reasons, but will return for the Colin Bloomfield Melanoma Appeal fixture on Thursday at The 3aaa County Ground; 7pm start.
It will be his final Twenty20 appearance for Derbyshire in 2015 before leaving the county for the Caribbean Premier League. Dilshan will then return to the Club at the start of August for the remainder of the season.
Hamish Rutherford, who will take over the overseas berth on Friday for the NatWest T20 Blast fixture at Worcestershire, is currently with the squad in Chelmsford but unable to play as Dilshan hasn’t completed the statutory minimum of 21 days signed as an overseas for the county.
This Thursday, supporters are being encouraged to wear yellow in support of the Colin Bloomfield Melanoma Appeal at the NatWest T20 Blast fixture versus Leicestershire.
The match, which will be the Club’s Colin Bloomfield Melanoma Appeal Fixture, will raise awareness for the appeal and 10% of all advanced tickets purchased will be donated to the appeal.
Supporters who buy tickets in advance will also save £4 for each adult ticket purchased.
The Colin Bloomfield Melanoma Appeal was launched by BBC Radio Derby after Colin, who sadly passed away in April, was diagnosed with Melanoma in 2013. His openness and dedication to raise awareness of the disease touched thousands of listeners, with the appeal raising to date over £100,000.
