The opening game of the Autoworld Volvo XC90 Chesterfield Festival of Cricket, in association with Chesterfield Borough Council versus Northamptonshire Steelbacks will be in support of Ashgate Hospicecare.
Ashgate Hospicecare are one of the Club’s Official Charity Partners for 2015 and work within North Derbyshire to provide specialist palliative and end of life care and support to adults and their families.
On Sunday, volunteers from the charity will be on hand helping to raise funds for the local hospice through bucket collections and a special raffle, with many great prizes up for grabs.
The festival commences on Sunday 5 July (2.30pm) when Northamptonshire Steelbacks visit the picturesque outground in a NatWest T20 Blast clash.
The attention turns to the longest format the following day, Monday 6 July (11am), when Derbyshire welcome Glamorgan for four days of first-class cricket, before the festival concludes on Sunday 12 July (2.30pm) with a NatWest T20 Blast fixture versus neighbours Yorkshire Vikings.
