Australian Big Bash bowler Nathan Rimmington is set to make his Derbyshire Falcons debut as Durham Jets visit The 3aaa County Ground in the NatWest T20 Blast on Friday night; 7pm start.

Rimmington has signed up to play in the NatWest T20 Blast for the Falcons this season, but a finger injury has prevented him taking part in the opening three matches in this year’s competition.

The 32-year-old, who represents Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League, has a renowned reputation as a death bowler and is one of the leading wicket takers since the inception of the Big Bash in 2011.

He will join Tillakaratne Dilshan as part of Derbyshire’s overseas duo, after Hashim Amla played his last game for the county in last week’s five-wicket win over Lancashire Lightning in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

The only other change from last week’s squad sees left-arm seam bowler Greg Cork replace off-spinner David Wainwright as Graeme Welch has named a 13-man squad.

Wayne Madsen and Alex Hughes remain absent with finger injuries while Jonathan Clare stepped up his return to first team action by featuring for the Second XI against Lancashire this week.

Durham have enjoyed a superb start to the 2015 season, topping both the NatWest T20 Blast group and leading the way in Division One of the LV= County Championship.

They are set to be boosted for this game with the inclusion of England’s Ben Stokes, who is currently one of world cricket’s most in-form players due to his exploits in the Test series versus New Zealand, but Mark Wood will be unavailable due to a slight injury.

Durham have firepower at the top of the order with Phil Mustard and Mark Stoneman particularly effective in the PowerPlay overs, while former England all-rounder Paul Collingwood is still churning out performances at the age of 39.

John Hastings will be a threat after he showed his power in the recent victory over Yorkshire Vikings, the Australian all-rounder smashed 37 from just 16 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes.

Durham are yet to achieve silverware in T20 cricket, with their best performance coming in 2008 when they reached the semi-finals.
