Graeme Welch is aiming for a repeat of last Friday night as the Falcons prepare for the visit of Durham Jets at The 3aaa County Ground.

Three wickets from Man of the Match Wayne White (3-21) and a 93-run opening stand between Hashim Amla (51) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (38) helped guide Derbyshire to a dominate five-wicket win versus Lancashire at Derby last Friday.

The Falcons will be looking to make it two wins in as many games this Friday night (5 June)when they entertain the Jets, who will feature England Test star Ben Stokes and former England all-rounder Paul Collingwood.

Elite Performance Director Welch hailed a fine all-round performance and hopes a bumper 3aaa County Ground crowd can cheer his side to a second successive victory on Friday.

“The atmosphere on Friday was fantastic,” Welch said. “The crowd was behind us from the off and the lads responded with a fine all-round performance.

“It was a top display with the ball. We stuck to our plans, bowled good lengths and took key wickets at crucial times.

“The seam attack were all very good, they were backed up by Dilshan’s spin and it was a good complete performance in the field.

“Amla and Dilshan then showed their class. They got us off to a great start and helped us chase the runs down.

“I am very happy with the way things are going and all the lads are embracing what we are doing. We go again on Friday against Durham, who have started the competition well, looking to make it two in two.

“Hopefully we can get another big crowd down to cheers the lads on.”
