Derbyshire held its annual Golf Day, sponsored by e-commerce website and on-line marketing specialists Purpose Media, at Morley Hayes on Tuesday 30 June.
Neil Miller, from 1870 Business Club partners Rubicon Print & Design, won the individual stableford competition and received a five day trip to play golf at the five star Thracian Cliffs Golf Resort & Spa in Bulgaria.
Golf Day sponsors Purpose Media also arranged the hole in one competition which raised £250 for the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation, which delivers cricket programmes and some wider more diverse community projects benefitting health, education and social inclusion across Derbyshire. Over the last four years Purpose Media has raised over £15,000 for local charities including Treetops Hospice and Jigsaw support Scheme.
The winners of the overall team prize were Purpose Media, Elliot Cook from Simple Marketing consultancy won longest drive and Wayne Madsen won both nearest the pin competitions. A team from GCI won the yellow ball competition and Scott Elstone won nearest the pin in two on the eighth hole.
Matt Wheatcroft, Managing Director at Purpose Media said: “As an 1870 Business Club partner it was a natural progression to sponsor the DCCC Golf Day. It was a great day and everyone enjoyed the networking and the opportunity to meet other golfers from the Derbyshire business community.”
Ryan Duckett, DCCC Commercial Director added, “Purpose Media has recently helped DCCC launch our new cricket and conference and events websites so we were delighted when they agreed to sponsor the golf day and help us raise money for our community programmes.”
